To find housing in France, knowing the right vocabulary will help you understand rental ads and contracts, and avoid mistakes.
Here are the key words you need to know :
🛌 Studio : One room with a separate bathroom. Good for one person.
🔢T1 / T2 / T3 :
T1 = one main room (living room/bedroom)
T2 = two main rooms (usually living room + bedroom)
T3 = three main rooms, and so on.
👥Colocation : You live with other people. You have your own room but share the kitchen, bathroom, and living room (the shared spaces depend on the accommodation).
🛋️Meublé : The apartment already has basic furniture (bed, table, chairs…).
📦Non-meublé : No furniture, you need to bring your own.
